09/02/2016 official filming
Today was the day that we had to reshoot our show. This time we did not have a live audience to give us feedback.
First of all not everyone in our group showed up and also the contestants. There was supposed to be three contestants for each team but sadly we only had two for each team because the rest did not turn up. Also our camera man and sound guy did not turn up .
For filming we only had two camera's , this is because the person who had the third ipad did not turn up so we had to use three. I was using the middle camera , the filming went good because the tripod was good so it was easy for me to move the camera. I did not really have to do much and my team communicated with me very well.
Overall our live show went really well , everyone did a great job.
My overall experience for this unit is it went really well. I enjoyed working with my team and doing this unit. I have learnt how multi camera tv shows works and this has made my interest increase more due to the fact that i was part of one.
What went well was the way we worked together as a team, before it was hard for our group to communicate with each other and everyone was arguing and nobody was getting along but as we began to have more practice runs and everyone was doing their role, the communication and atmosphere within the team developed and we began to work really well. Another thing that went well was our filming , we filmed really well.
Personally I think I did a great job within my role, this is because my role was straight forward, I was the camera man. It was easy and it has developed my camera skills by far and has given me great knowledge on how the cameras work during multi-camera TV shows. I performed really well because I followed the instructions that were given to me. My filming was on point , I did the correct shots at the right time and I managed this time to keep the tripods still so that the camera doesn't shake to ruin the footage.

Today we had our live recording for social challenge, the production went well , everyone in my team turned up for the show and we even had a live audience that had provided us with feedback.
Me and Timmy were the cameramen , we were given instructions by Berfin (vision mixer) and Dani (director) through the headphones telling us what shots we should do and when.
Before the show started we had to set up the set , me and Timi set up the camera's by setting up the tripods and placing the ipad's on them correctly.
During filming everything was going great , but I had one of the stiff tripods. Whenever I tried to move the tripod around it would cause the camera to start shaking and this was annoying because it made the footage shake.
The show went well we finished shooting and then we had feedback. First of all the feedback that we received was crap. The feedback was mostly to the host and the people participating in our show such as ; they need to act like they are actually recording and improvise. But the technical feedback that we got was the floor manager did a great job with communicating with the team and the cameramen also did a great job.
What went wrong was when we played back the footage of our live show recording, the camera was shaking too much which made the footage look unprofessional. Also we could hear all the sounds and the conversations that was said through the mics which had been recorded onto the actual footage. Also the cuts for the footage weren't good, some of the cuts looked really bad and weren't cut at the right time. So sadly our group have to re-shoot our final piece because the footage was so bad it could not be submitted.

Today I had to help We r London, they had a missing camera man so I had to fill in for them and help them film their show. It went well but the group needs to rehearse a bit more.
Being a camera man for We R London was quite easy there was not really much to do because most of the times the camera shots were the same. There was hardly any movement within the guests and host because they were sitting down throughout most of the show.
At some points in filming I had to zoom in and out , my main focus was on the guest.

Today we r london was filming, i had to be one of the guest for the show but unfortunately due to technical difficulties and late issues , the other group was not able to film their show.
Being a camera man for We r London went well and ran smoothly because we didn't need to do much. My main focus was on filming the two guest, it was fairly easy because the guest were sat down for most of the show and all I need to do was zoom in and zoom out as I was instructed to. The reason why I found it easy because I didn't need to track the guest because they were sat down for the entire time of the show.

We had a test run in the classroom because the tv studio was being used by another class so Tyler and Tom came to our class with the Ipads and the ipad stands and showed us how to use the software that we will be using. The software was cool and I adapted quickly in learning how to use it. we were shown how to switch to the different cameras and how to zoom in and zoom out.
The software was installed within the iPads and it was professional. We were taught different types of techniques on the app

On the 3rd of January we began doing our test runs with the contestants and our group. I was the middle camera man and this was the footage that I had filmed. We used our Ipad's to film, so far things went well but there was a bit of lack of communication within our group and with the contestants. The contestants were not fully aware of what they were doing and how the game show works. Also some individuals in our group was not aware of what roles they were supposed assigned to which caused a problem in our group due to the high tension.
At first non of us camera men knew what we were doing , we didn't know what shots we had to use because we had forgotten to use the shooting script. But then eventually the shooting script was given to us and it was not very clear`, it didn't not make sense. Some shots did not go with the specific scenes at the time so our director told me just to carry on filming in the long shot that I was filming since I was the middle camera. I found my job easy, I enjoyed filming.

As a group today we had to table read our script for our show social challenge , during this meeting we looked at the script and it really was not completed clearly or correctly . So as a group we came together to discuss the script and how we can change the script in order for the game to make sense and to be clearer to understand eg point systems and the rounds.
We discussed what will happen in each round
round 1 : Meme challenge, the contestants will have a picture and try to make a funny meme(catch phrase) for it
round 2 : snap chat stories , each team will have 60 seconds to create a funny snap chat story
round 3: music.ly challenge , an app to make the most funniest music video impression
Social challenge will be filmed in front of a live audience, we will not be using pre-recorded clips due to the fact that we do not have enough time and it is not necessary
for our show we realised that in order for the game to work the audience also needs to able to see what the contestants are doing on their ipad's . So we decided that we will need to get a hdmi cable to connect the ipads and the big screen so the audience can see.
Plan B for this solution is we will use periscope which is a live streaming which will be easier to use
we allocated job roles for the production;
Director: Dani
Vision mixer : Berfin
Camera 1 : victor (main)
camera 2 : Abigail (me)
camera 3 : Timi
Sound : Zak
Lighting : Chai-ann
Tech/monitor : Keeley

The camera's in the studio stopped working so this has caused a problem for us not being able too shoot so Danielle has come up with a plan for our class to be able to use our ipads as camera's. We will be using a software called reco live which will allow us to connect with everything in the studio

We were given back our case study work with our grades and comments. After everything we were supposed to practice with all the equipment in the studio but somebody from the previous lesson messed up the equipment and we could not do any practical work because it was not safe for us to touch the equipment.

On this day the class was split in two, we were put into two groups based on which show we will be doing . I was put into social challenge which was made by keelee
We had our first meeting , everyone was appointed roles. These roles were for what each person in the group will be doing for task 1 . My role was to do the production schedule. In this meeting we talked about how we will make this all work and what everyone should be doing .

Tuesday 1st November
On Tuesday 1st November our lesson was in the TV studio, and we had some practice runs. The first time we had our lesson in the TV studio it was not practical but on this day it was the first time our lesson in the TV studio was practical. To start off the class was split into two groups so one halve of the class was learning how to use the camera's and the other halve of the class was in the control room learning how to vision mixer , sound and the lights. After a while we had to swap positions.
After learning how to adapt by using the camera's and sitting in the control room , our class had to come up with a show idea so we could learn how everything works during a live show. At first I was acting as a host on my show build or break helping Lucy build or break her relationship with Dianni, this went very well. The class worked together well by making this work , they used sounds such as applause and used different type of lightings during different type of situations.
We then swapped roles, I was in the control room with my group and my responsibility was the lights. I had to know when to increase the lighting and when to decrease the lighting. This role really helped me understand how lighting works and how it plays a huge role on these shows.
